Here are 10 Great Home Buyers Tips:
 
  • Be comfortable with your monthly payments and the price you are paying for the home.
  • Investigate all “other” costs: Taxes, tax adjustments, insurance, legal costs, home inspection costs, etc...
  • Be comfortable with the locations of the neighbourhood and avilable amenities.
  • Know the market: Take the time to do a careful screening of homes currently on the market that are in your price range.
  • Check comparable homes that have sold on the street or in the area. If there is any doubt  about the price you are paying get an appraisal on the property.
  • Take a second look. Sometimes when you see a home a second time, you remember things differently.
  • Picture the home empty, as it will be on closing day, as well as with your own furnishings.
  • Get a home inspection. A professional opinion will give you a better idea as to the structure of the home that you are purchasing.
  • Be 100% comfortable before making an offer.
  • Cover off all relevant parties in the purchase: The bank, lawyers, movers, utility and insurance companies.
