5 Types of Buyers:
1) Bargain Hunters: They seek out private sales, not only to catch an unsophisticated seller off
guard and get a sale price, but they will want you to drop the price by an amount you
would have paid to your realtor.
2) Lookers Who Can't Afford to Buy: This group of people are not qualified to buy, but like to
look at your home.
3) Transferred People: Most likely referred to a local Realtor by a relocation company or have
already contacted a Realtor by the Internet.
4) First Time Home Buyer/Looking for a Specific Style Home: 50% of buyers are first time home
buyers.
5) Secondary Buyers: Buyers with growing or shrinking families.
Most of the listings are for sale with Realtors and as a consequence most serious buyers are working with Realtors. This leaves the private seller with the “Bargain Hunter” and the “Lookers.”
